Meet the AR Energy Solar Calculator
You can now get a solar and battery estimate from us in under five steps, built on how your household actually uses power. No phone call, no waiting for someone to ring you back.
Most people start their solar research with the same question: roughly what size system do I need, and roughly what will it cost? Our new solar calculator answers that in a couple of minutes.

BATTERY CALCULATOR

No sign-up. Real numbers for SA and WA homes.
How it works
Grab a recent power bill and answer a few quick questions about your home and your energy usage. That's it. Fewer than five steps, start to finish.
The calculator takes your usage and works out a system sized to suit it. You get back:
- a recommended system size for your home
- an estimated price for that system
- a starting point you can sanity-check against any other quote you've been given
It's built on the same sizing logic our team uses every day. The system it suggests is matched to your usage, not to whatever package happens to be on special.
How accurate is it?
Close. The estimate is near enough to a real quote that you can plan around it. But here's the honest version: no online calculator can give you a 100% accurate price, and ours is no exception.
A calculator knows what you tell it. It can't see:
- the condition, pitch and material of your roof
- shading from trees, chimneys or the neighbour's second storey
- whether your switchboard needs an upgrade
- how far the cable has to run from the panels to the inverter
- what your network will let you export
- what you want backed up when the power goes out
Any one of these can move the price or change the right system for your home.
For an exact quote, talk to a professional
The calculator gets you in the ballpark. A person gets you the exact number.
When you speak with one of our team, they take your estimate and test it against your actual home. We do a pre-install site visit on every job, so the roof, the switchboard and the cable run are all checked before you sign anything. That's what turns an estimate into a firm quote.
It also means you can ask the questions a calculator can't answer. Should I add a battery now or later? Will this run my house in a blackout? Is this even worth it for me? Sometimes the honest answer is that it might not be right for you, and we'll tell you that.
Who you'll be talking to
The people behind the calculator have been doing this a long time. Our team brings 60+ years of combined experience and has 8,000+ battery systems installed between them. There aren't many roofs, switchboards or awkward sites we haven't seen before.
That work has been recognised by the industry and by our customers.
